We love science! Science Week took place from 10th-17th November. Science Week is a national celebration of science with hundreds of events for people of all ages taking place across Ireland. We had lots of great discussions, did interesting experiments and had lots of fun!
In Senior Infants and 1st class, they did the skittles experiment to create a rainbow of colours.
In Ms.Dudgeon's class they tested materials to see if they were waterproof.
In 2nd and 3rd class, they investigated changes of state by making rice krispie buns!
In 3rd and 4th class, they did a fun experiment with paper towels and food colouring.
In 4th, 5th and 6th class, they welcomed the H20 Scientists from DKIT. They even got to wear lab coats! The classes also took part in two STEM activities, one was to create paper helicopters and the other was to create the longest paper chain with only one sheet of paper.
Happy Science Week!
