Garda Visit to 5th and 6th Class

In an effort to educate senior pupils about the importance of staying safe online, Garda Darragh Prior from the Community Policing Unit visited the school on 28th January. With the ever-growing presence of technology in young people's lives, the Garda stressed the importance of being cautious about what they post on social media. The pupils in 5th and 6th class learned what cyberbullying is, how it can affect someone and what to do if they encounter any harmful words online.

Three key guidelines are:

  • Don't respond to bullies.
  • Block and report
  • Talk to a trusted adult

Please read the Parent's Page on Webwise . It offers support and guidelines on how to ensure your child stays safe online.
