6th Class had a great start to the new school year. September and October was filled with lots of learning, creativity and team work. We started off the year with a STEM challenge to stack cups using only string and an elastic band! Here are some of the highlights from the first two months of 6th Class.
In Geography, the pupils studied maps and learned how to draw sketch maps. We linked Geography with Maths by looking for angles in an aerial photograph of Dundalk.
In History, the pupils learned about two local buildings, Seatown castle and windmill. We examined photographs using magnifying glasses.
They also completed country projects. The pupils had one week to research and present a country to the class. They made mini brochures, posters and even PowerPoint presentations.
For Maths Week, 6th Class were lucky to get a visit from a DKIT Maths lecturer, he challenged the pupils with lots of questions and puzzles. We also took part in the 6th Class Maths Chat Zoom Quiz.
In English, we studied different novels to improve our comprehension and fluency skills.
Well done 6th Class!
